SYNC LICENSING

MIRI works with a variety of production music companies, writing and recording to specific briefs. She has had sync placements on TV and streaming shows including Braxton Family Values and Made in Bondi on E4.

‘I Want You To Stay’, a collaboration with Henry Taylor and Scheilo was published and released by West One Music on their Electronic Dance Series. She has worked on commissions for Media Tracks, an artist-centered ethical music production house that champions underrepresented voices in music and media. MIRI’s own music has received recognition, appearing in series and film soundtracks and the documentary I AM GEN Z on Amazon Prime.

Live Music Curation

Between 2011 – 2019 MIRI promoted and hosted esteemed monthly live music night Blue Monday at The Boogaloo alongside collaborator Rosered. Blue Monday was a platform and community for LGBTQ+ women and allies. Guest speakers included The Outside Project and Stonewall. MIRI and Rosered also worked with award winning music venue Green Note on 10 sold out live shows called Girls To The Front bringing female musicians to the forefront.

MIRI has organised and presented live music events for Strongroom, Shoreditch and Raze Collective for their Raze on the River showcase at Southbank Centre. She co-curated the music lineup for BloomFest, an open-to-all one-day festival, bringing together 400+ women and allies to raise each other to new heights.

COLLABORATION AND COMMISSIONS

MIRI’s projects include writing for Pretty Decent Music, an independent publisher and record label, recording a cover of REM’s ‘Everybody Hurts’ for The God Is In The TV compilation album ‘A Carnival of Sorts’ raising money for Help Musicians UK. She was commissioned by POWA Scotland, an anti-harassment, anti-abuse musical collective that researches and fundraises to facilitate the creation of new musical works to raise awareness about sexual discrimination and inequality within the arts sector, and she recorded vocals for Lady Unchained on her poem ‘The Forgotten People’.

God Is in the TV

The eclectic 40 strong tracklist was mostly recorded for this project, featuring artists from across the globe, from Wales, Athens, London, Edinburgh, Sweden, Japan, Australia and beyond – each act taking on R.E.M. in their own distinct styles, affectionately paying tribute to one of the most important alternative rock bands of our era.

The Forgotten People speaks to all those Black people who are trapped in the criminal justice system, who’s voices can’t be heard, those who can’t march or speak out about the abuse they face.

LOUD WOMEN

‘Reclaim These Streets’ by the LOUD WOMEN collective is released with all proceeds to Women’s Aid. In the wake of the recent deaths of Blessing Olusegun and Sarah Everard, we hope to turn up the volume on current discussions on the issue of women’s safety. As the song says, “Until every woman is safe to walk on every street”.
